Create mileage expenses with Google Maps. Now also available in the online portal.
We already have this in our app for a long time, but starting today you can also use Google Maps to add mileage expenses in the online portal.
To add a mileage expense (if your company allows this), go to the top right in the expenses inbox and click ‘add new expense’. Select ‘Mileage expense’ in the dropdown menu. A new screen will show the expense details on the left and a map with your route on the right.
Search for places and companies
When you start typing an address, a list of suggestions will show. This will help you to complete mileage expenses quickly. You can only select suggested locations, to prevent mistakes in your expense report. You can also search for common places and company names. The company names will be saved in the address field too. This makes it easier for approvers to evaluate the submitted mileage expense.
Add several destinations along the route
Sometimes you will have different destinations on a route. You can add waypoints after every location on your route. The entire route will be shown on the map, so you check right away whether you have missed a destination or accidentally added a wrong waypoint.
Automatic calculation of the distance and expense amount
After entering the departure and destinations, the distance and expense amount are automatically calculated. The travel allowance is set per job title or per user.
Until today, you could already create mileage expenses in the online portal, but without the map, suggested locations, and automatic distance calculation. Hope that you are happy with the improvements!
